Greeks X-PIRAL sound on the one hand very Europeanbut one the other hand have various US-Metal-influences to exhibit, which makes Hunters a 68-minute interesting metallic experience. Different Prog components come to the surfase (Vanden Plas are to call here)as well as bands like Mob Rules or Symphony X if one hears Songs like slow, but intensively played, Fall Into Oblivion... X-Piral from Greece is this month's supplier of sharp edged power metal. "Hunters" is the successor of "Poison Eyes", the 2005 debut album. X-Piral managed together with producer Markus Teske (known from his work with Symphony X and Vanden Plas) to record some good old and quite memorable metal songs. Far from original, but played with a lot of enthusiasm... Read more... |

Burning Star Records crawls down in a nutshell when those in the back side of X-pirals’ “Hunters” proclaim “ If you upload it on the net… well, thank you”. There, with a budget in dense equality with today culture’s free advertisement, they are both in quantity and in quality. Read more... |

X-PIRAL from Athens have been getting a lot of plays over at their myspace page, (formerly known as Shadow Play) X-piral play nicely alongside the likes of Sonata Arctica and Vanden Plas, and unsurprising really as the production has been worked on by Markus Teske who has previously tinkered with the knobs on albums by Vanden Plas, Stratovarius and Royal Hunt... “Hunters” is an album with a huge variety in which the guitar work of Nick Papanikolaou and the keyboard work of Dimitris Marinis get your attention. Especially the piano playing of Dimitris Marinis is sometimes really beautiful. The drummer Fragiskos Samoilis gives a very strong base at the songs and his playing sometimes reminds me of Jason Rullo (Symphony X). Read more... |

A great number of influences, a very good use of keyboards, modern and classical riffs, guitar solos that stand out, brilliant production by Markus Teske ( Sound engineer for Mob Rules, Vanden Plas, Red Circuit, Symphony X) and a vary rare characteristic for a Greek Band. Their own sound and presonality. Read more... |
Metal Invader (05/04/2007) |
This is the second work from this Hellenic band that plays melodic Heavy / Power Metal. If you have heard their first work “Poison Eyes” the first thing that you will sure notice here is the fact that the band has improved in every point that you check it, and this is always a very positive fact for a band that makes it first steps in the metal scene. X-Piral rocks!! Even though the cover art looks rather like queer Gothic Rock, these five Greeks celebrate great traditional Heavy Metal with a melodic touch on their debut "Poison Eyes"! And although a lot of fish struggle for dominance in this part of the sea, X-Piral succeed convincingly in retaining their own face and sounding different from the majority of their rivals... Everyone found something worth checking out in the flood of records we have recently received. It all went smooth without fighting, name calling or other reckless behavior. I was able to roughly check the most of the material that we got. And I can?t say it was little of it. I couldn?t dig some of them, mostly the typical Heavy or Power Metal bands and the like. On the other hand, someone could always find it worth listening to... Read more... |

"Poison Eyes" is the debut album from X-Piral a new promising Greek band.
